Mary & Dad's Vacation Part 2

Turns out the trip home was a little eventful for Dad and Mary. The plane sat on the tarmac for 63 minutes longer than it should have. It was raining cats and dogs, so they chose to delay the take off. Also, it turns out the airline checked one of their suitcases. There was a paper inside that stated that the bag was chosen for a random inspection. Dad said it seemed wierd to know that a perfect stranger can just peruse through your things without any consequence. True, very true.

Here are some more pictures.

Can you believe it? My Dad and Mary were here for a week!!! They actually got on a plane!!! Dad did really well. He was feeling tight in his chest, but he certainly didn't let it show. Mary loved the flight. She got a kick out of being able to look out the window and see the sites. I was so glad to be part of their first adventure out of Pennsylvania. :-)
While in Texas, Mary and Dad and Mike and I ate at some really good places. Saltgrass Steakhouse was their favorite, we ate there twice, the first day they got in and the last day. Rainforest Cafe was their favorite as far as atmosphere. They loved the desserts at Cheesecake Factory. We had a really cute waiter at Love & War in Texas, he looked like Leonardo DiCaprio and was very friendly. For breakfast, we ate at IHOP and Weck's (local breakfast and lunch place that serves awesome food). They got a taste of Whataburger(fast food) too. We walked the Grapevine Mills mall...I think Dad thought I was trying to kill him. We went shopping at Sheplers (western clothing). We went to the Cowgirl Hall of Fame and Museum and the Cowboy Hall of Fame and Museum in Fort Worth. We saw the cattle drive at the Fort Worth Stock Yards. We drove around the Grapevine Lake and ate at Little Pete's which is on the lake. We fed the ducks and turtles and fish that were 'fighting' to get the food that we were throwing in the water. They even got to see the Texas Motor Speedway. There were so many things we wanted to do, but we ran out of time. And we spent three days in the pool.
