Lumberjack Mike

Here is what the tree looked like once Mike got a hold of it. He doesn't have a chain saw, all he used was a small bowsaw. Such a shame, it was a beautiful tree.

Oh yeah, by the way....

....the construction is finally finished!!! The last of the repairs were completed April 26th. 1 day shy of 6 months. The 'incident' happened on October 27th.

State Farm is our insurance company.
Dalworth Restoration is who did the construction.
Carpet One put in the carpet, back splash tile, and linoleum and where we bought them.
Classic Cabinets made our kitchen cabinets.
Karen Arrington put up the wallpaper.
Wallpaper Gallery is where we purchased the wallpaper.
Stone Expressions put in the granite counter tops (would never recommend).

So...now that we are done...the place needs to be cleaned. We are working on getting someone in to clean. The floor tile is terrible, from all the plaster, dirt, and where and tear from the last 6 months. I'll let you know how that goes. ;-)

Here we go again....

Waves of strong storms moved across Texas for the third straight day Wednesday, knocking out power to at least 300,000 homes and businesses, downing trees and stranding motorists in high waters. UGH!!!!

Mike and I were watching TV, when a knock came at the door. Two ladies with umbrellas asked it we knew that our tree and flag pole was on the ground. We did not. The tree is fairly large and this picture does not do it justice. It is a flowering pear tree and was absolutely beautiful. The flag pole, as you can see in the picture, blew over and broke. I loved having a flag, so I am hoping to replace that soon. The next picture...yep...it is a leak in the house. Can you believe it? The room that the previous owners called the formal living room, but we call our office, sprung a leak across the ceiling. It looks like it may have been leaking some time in the past and repaired. But it didn't stick. Hopefully, this won't take as long to fix as the rest of our house. Gotta love Texas.
